Zyban Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Zyban is a nicotine-free quit-smoking aid. It contains the same active ingredient as the antidepressant medication Wellbutrin. It works by boosting the levels of several chemical messengers in the brain.

Zyban Dosage

  • The usual starting dose is one 150-milligram tablet in the morning for the first 3 days.

  • Alcohol
  • Beta blockers such as Inderal, Lopressor, and Tenormin
  • Cyclophosphamide
  • Heart-stabilizing drugs such as Rythmol and Tambocor
  • Levodopa
  • Major tranquilizers such as Haldol, Risperdal and Thorazine
  • Orphenadrine
  • Phenobarbital
  • Steroids such as prednisone and hydrocortisone
  • Theophylline
  • Warfarin

After taken Zyban if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Zyban overdose include:

  • Blurred vision
  • Confusion
  • Grogginess
  • Jitteriness
  • Light-headedness
  • Nausea
  • Seizure
