Trinalin Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Trinalin and Rynatan are long-acting antihistamine used to treats nasal stuffiness and middle ear congestion that may be caused by hay fever and ongoing nasal inflammation. They can be used alone or with antibiotics and analgesics such as aspirin or acetaminophen.

Trinalin Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dosage is 1 tablet twice a day.
  • Children under age 12 should not take these products.

Side Effects of Trinalin

  • Abdominal cramps
  • Blood disorders
  • Chest pain
  • Diarrhea

Warnings and precautions before taking Trinalin:

  • These products should be used with care if you have a peptic ulcer or other upper intestinal obstruction, bladder obstruction due to an enlarged prostate or other bladder problems, increased eye pressure, or diabetes.
  • After taken this medicine, then you may feel dizzy, or drowsiness. So you should not participate in any activities that require alertness such as driving and operate machinery.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Trinalin with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Trinalin with the following:

  • Alcohol
  • Barbiturates such as phenobarbital
  • Digitalis
  • High blood pressure drugs
  • Kaolin
  • MAO inhibitor drugs such as the antidepressants Nardil and Parnate
  • Sedatives such as Nembutal and Seconal
  • Tranquilizers such as Xanax and Valium

After taken Trinalin if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Trinalin overdose include:

  • Anxiety
  • Bluish color caused by lack of oxygen
  • Chest pain
  • Decreased mental alertness
  • Excitement
  • Giddiness
  • Hallucinations
