Trental is a medication that reduces the viscosity or "stickiness" of your blood, allowing it to flow more freely. It helps to treat the painful leg cramps that may be caused by "intermittent claudication," a condition that results when hardening of the arteries reduces the leg muscles' blood supply.

Trental Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dosage of Trental in controlled-release tablets is one 400-milligram tablet 3 times a day with meals.
  • The safety and effectiveness of Trental in children have not been established.

Side Effects of Trental

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Trental with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Trental with the following:

  • Blood pressure medications such as Vasotec and Cardizem SR
  • Clot inhibitors such as Persantine
  • Theophylline (Theo-Dur)
  • Ulcer medicines such as Tagamet

After taken Trental if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Trental overdose include:

  • Agitation
  • Convulsions
  • Fever
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Sleepiness
