Semprex-D Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Semprex-D is an antihistamine and decongestant drug that is used to treats sneezing, running nose, itching, watery eyes, and stuffy nose that may be caused by seasonal allergies such as hay fever.

Semprex-D Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dose for adults and children 12 years of age and older is 1 capsule, taken by mouth, every 4 to 6 hours, 4 times a day.
  • The safety and effectiveness of Semprex-D in children less than 12 years old have not been established.

Uses of Semprex-D

  • It is used to treats sneezing, running nose, itching, watery eyes, and stuffy nose.

Side Effects of Semprex-D

Before taken Semprex-D medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Semprex-D. Side effects may include:

  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Indigestion
  • Menstrual problems

  • You should also used Semprex-D with care if you have increased eye pressure, an overactive thyroid gland, or kidney disease.
  • After taken this medicine, then you may feel dizzy, or drowsiness. So you should not participate in any activities that require alertness such as driving and operate machinery.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Semprex-D with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Semprex-D with the following:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Blood pressure medications such as Inderal and Lopressor
  • MAO inhibitors, including the antidepressants Nardil and Parnate
  • Other antihistamines such as Actifed, Seldane-D, and Entex

After taken Semprex-D if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Semprex-D overdose include:

  • Anxiety
  • Convulsions
  • Difficult breathing
  • Fear
  • Hallucinations
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Painful urination
