Relpax Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Relpax is used to treat migraine headaches with or without the presence of auras.

Relpax Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dose is 20-milligram or 40-milligram tablet.
  • Relpax is not recommended for use in children under 18 years old.

Side Effects of Relpax

Before taken Relpax medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Relpax. Side effects may include:

  • Chest tightness or pressure
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Sleepiness
  • Tingling
  • Weakness

Warnings and precautions before taking Relpax:

  • After taken this medicine, then you may feel dizzy, or drowsiness. So you should not participate in any activities that require alertness such as driving and operate machinery.
  • You should tell your doctor immediately if you experience chest pains, sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body, bloody diarrhea, or stomach pain.
  • If you are taking Relpax, then it may cause a slight increase in blood pressure, especially in people with kidney problems and the elderly.
  • If you develop high blood pressure, then you should stop taking Relpax.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Relpax with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Relpax with the following:

  • Almotriptan
  • Dihydroergotamine
  • Ergotamine
  • Frovatriptan
  • Methysergide
  • Naratriptan
  • Rizatriptan
  • Sumatriptan
  • Zolmitriptan

After taken Relpax if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Relpax overdose is unknown.
