Prevpac Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Prevpac is a prepackaged combination of drugs designed to treat duodenal ulcers that may be caused by H. pylori bacteria, the most common source of ulcers.

Prevpac Dosage

  • The usual starting dosage is 1 capsule of lansoprazole, 2 capsules of amoxicillin, and 1 tablet of clarithromycin taken together twice a day for 10 or 14 days.

  • It is used to treat duodenal ulcers that may be caused by H. pylori bacteria.

Side Effects of Prevpac

  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Taste disturbances

Warnings and precautions before taking Prevpac:

  • Bromocriptine
  • Carbamazepine
  • Digoxin
  • Ketoconazole
  • Hexobarbital
  • Iron supplements
  • Lovastatin
  • Methylprednisolone
  • Probenecid
  • Rifabutin
  • Sildenafil
  • Tacrolimus
  • Valproic acid

After taken Prevpac if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. An overdose of amoxicillin may be helped by constant liquid intake and urination.
