Parlodel Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Parlodel inhibits the secretion of the hormone prolactin from the pituitary gland. It also mimics the action of dopamine, a chemical lacking in the brain of someone with Parkinson's disease.

Parlodel Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dosage is 2.5-milligram tablets.
  • The safety and effectiveness of Parlodel have not been established in children

Uses of Parlodel

  • It is used to treat a variety of medical conditions such as Infertility in some women, Menstrual problems.
  • It is used to treats Parkinson's disease.

Side Effects of Parlodel

Before takenParlodel medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Parlodel. Side effects may include:

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Parlodel with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Parlodel with the following:

  • Blood pressure-lowering drugs such as Aldomet and Catapres
  • Metoclopramide
  • Oral contraceptives
  • Pimozide

After taken Parlodel if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Parlodel overdose include:

  • Confusion
  • Delusions
  • Feeling unwell
  • Hallucinations
  • Lethargy
  • Nausea
  • Pallor
  • Severely low blood pressure
