Orudis Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Orudis® KT™ is an anti-inflammatory drug. It is used to treat pain that are associated with rheumatoid such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, menstrual cramps or premenstrual pain.

Orudis Dosage

  • The usual starting dosage is 75 milligrams 3 times a day or 50 milligrams 4 times a day.
  • If you have kidney or liver disease, then you need smaller doses of Orudis.

Uses of Orudis

  • Ketoprofen is used to treat pain, swelling, and joint stiffness from arthritis.
  • It is also used to reduce mild to moderate pain such as menstrual cramps, headaches, muscle aches, backaches, and dental pain.

Side Effects of Orudis

Before taken Orudis medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor.  If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Orudis. Side effects may include:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Changes in kidney function
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Dreams
  • Fluid retention
  • Gas
  • Headache
  • Inability to sleep
  • Nervousness

Warnings and precautions before taking Orudis:

  • You should be taken Orudis capsules with or after food to avoid irritating the stomach.
  • After taken Orudis capsules, you may feel dizziness. So you should not participate in any activities that require full metal alertness such as drive or operate machinery.
  • If you have kidney or liver disease, then you should be used this medicine with extra caution.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Orudis with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Orudis with the following:

  • Aspirin
  • Blood thinners such as Coumadin
  • Diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide
  • Lithium
  • Methotrexate
  • Probenecid

After taken Orudis if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Orudis overdose include:

  • Breathing difficulty
  • Coma
  • Drowsiness
  • High blood pressure
  • Kidney failure
  • Low blood pressure
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
