Novasal Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Novasal is an aspirin-like drug used to treats symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritisn that may be caused by inflammation.

Novasal Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dose is one 600-milligram tablet and you should be taken 3 or 4 times a day.
  • Novasal is not recommend for use in children.

Uses of Novasal

  • It is used to treats symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritisn.

Side Effects of Novasal

Before taken Novasal medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Novasal. Side effects may include:

  • Blood in the stool
  • Low blood sugar
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Stomach bleeding

Warnings and precautions before taking Novasal:

  • If you are taking Novasal, then it may interfere with blood clotting. If you have blood clotting problems or vitamin K deficiency, then you should tell your doctor.
  • If you have diabetes or you're receiving hemodialysis, Novasal may lower your blood sugar.
  • If you're over 65 and take high doses of Novasal, then your doctor will monitor your blood levels. In addition, your doctor may want you to stop taking other drugs that contain magnesium.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Novasal with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Novasal with the following:

  • Aspirin
  • Blood-thinners such as warfarin
  • Diuretics such as spironolactone
  • Magnesium-containing drugs
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or other pain relievers
  • Phenytoin

After taken Novasal if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Novasal overdose include:

  • Confusion
  • Diarrhea
  • Excessive thirst
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Rapid breathing
  • Sweating
