It is one of a family of drugs known as tricyclic antidepressants. It work by affecting the levels of the brain's natural chemical messengers known as neurotransmitters. Norpramin is used for the treatment of depression.Norpramin is also used to treat bulimia and attention deficit disorders.

Norpramin Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dose ranges from 100 to 200 milligrams per day, and you should be taken 1 dose or divided into smaller doses.
  • Norpramin is not recommended for children.

  • Norpramin is used for the treatment of depression.
  • Norpramin is also used to treat bulimia and attention deficit disorders.

Side Effects of Norpramin

Before taken Norpramin medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Norpramin. Side effects may include:

  • You should tell your doctor if you develop a fever and sore throat while you are taking Norpramin.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Norpramin with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Norpramin with the following:

  • Cimetidine
  • Drugs that improve breathing
  • Fluoxetine
  • Guanethidine
  • Paroxetine
  • Sertraline
  • Thyroid medications

After taken Norpramin if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Norpramin overdose include:

  • Agitation
  • Coma
  • Dilated pupils
  • Extremely low blood pressure

  • Irregular heart rate
