Sibutramine is used together with a reduced-calorie diet to help you lose weight and also help to keep the lost weight from returning. Sibutramine is used to affect the chemical in the brain that may cause weight lose or other problems or thought to work by increasing the activity of certainchemicals, known as norepinephrine and serotonin, in the brain.

Meridia Dosage

  • The usual starting dose of this medicine one time daily and you should be taken medicine in the morning.
  • The usual starting dose is 10mg tablet per day. Your doctor may also increased the dosage upto 15mg after several weeks according to your body response.

Uses of Meridia

  • Meridia is used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity.

Side Effects of Meridia

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Meridia with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Meridia with the following:

  • Alcohol
  • Blood thinners such as warfarin
  • Erythromycin
  • Fentanyl
  • Ketoconazole
  • Lithium
  • Meperidine
  • Naratriptan
  • Paroxetine
  • Sertraline

After taken Meridia if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Although doctors have had little experience with overdoses of Meridia, such as include increased heart rate and blood pressure are possible results.
