Lozol Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Lozol is used in the treatment of high blood pressure, either alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications. It is also used to treats salt and fluid retention.

Lozol Dosage

  • For the treatment of High Blood Pressure, the usual starting dose is 1.25 milligrams as a single daily dose taken in the morning.
  • For the treatment of Fluid Buildup in Congestive Heart Failure, the usual starting dose is 2.5 milligrams as a single daily dose taken in the morning.

Side Effects of Lozol

Before taken Lozol medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Lozol. Side effects may include:

  • Agitation
  • Back pain
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Infection
  • Muscle cramps or spasms
  • Nasal inflammation
  • Weakness

Warnings and precautions before taking Lozol:

  • If you are using diuretics such as Lozol, then it may cause the body to lose too much salt and potassium, especially among elderly women. So you should be used this medicine with extra caution.
  • Lozol should be used with care if you have gout or high uric acid levels, diabetes, or a disease of the connective tissue.
  • This medication should be used with caution if you have severe kidney disease.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Lozol with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Lozol with the following:

  • Lithium
  • Norepinephrine
  • Other high blood pressure medications
