Clonex Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Clonex belongs to a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines. It is used alone or along with other medications to treat convulsive disorders such as epilepsy. It is also prescribed for panic disorder - unexpected attacks of overwhelming panic accompanied by fear of recurrence.

Clonex Dosage

The usual dose is 1.0 to 2.0 mg of clonazepam offered the best balance of therapeutic benefit and tolerability

Side Effects of Clonex

Before taken Clonex medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor.  If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Clonex. Side effects may include:

  • Vomiting
  • Weakness
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Increased heart rate

Warnings and precautions before taking Clonex:

  • You should tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Clonex, aspirin, tartrazine, or any other drugs.
  • If you are pregnant, then you should avoid to taking clonex. Because there is a risk of birth defects.
  • Although drinking moderate amounts of alcohol is unlikely to affect your response to Clonex, it is best to avoid alcohol while you are taking Clonex medicine.
  • Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor.

Drug Interaction :- If you are taking Clonex with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Clonex with other drugs. So you should not take this medicine without talking to your doctor.


Symptoms of Clonex overdose may unlikely to occur. But after taken Clonex if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect.
