Cefzil Medication- Uses & Side Effects

Cefzil is an antibiotic in a class of drugs known as cephalosporins. It fights bacteria in the body. It is used to treats many kinds of infections, such as respiratory tract, skin, ears.

Cefzil Dosage

  • For the treatment of Throat and Respiratory Tract Infections, the usual starting dose is 500 milligrams, and you should be taken once or twice a day for 10 days.
  • For the treatment of Sinus Infection, the usual starting dose is 250 milligrams every 12 hours for 10 days.

Uses of Cefzil

  • Cefzil is used to treat various type of bacterial infections such as bronchitis, tonsillitis, ear infections, and skin infections.

Side Effects of Cefzil

Before taken Cefzil medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Cefzil. Side effects may include:

  • Certain other antibiotics such as Amikin
  • Oral contraceptives
  • Probenecid
  • Propantheline

  • Diarrhea

  • Seizures
