Atacand HCT Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Atacand HCT is a combination medication used in the treatment of high blood pressure. One component, candesartan, belongs to a class of blood pressure medications that work by preventing the hormone angiotensin II from constricting the blood vessels.

Atacand HCT Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dose is one 16/12.5 tablet or one 32/12.5 tablet per day.

Side Effects of Atacand HCT

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Atacand HCT with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Atacand HCT with the following:

  • Alcohol
  • Barbiturates such as phenobarbital and Seconal
  • Cholestyramine
  • Insulin
  • Lithium
  • Muscle relaxants such as tubocurarine
  • Narcotic painkillers such as Percocet
  • Oral diabetes drugs such as Diabinese
  • Steroid medications such as prednisone

After taken Atacand HCT if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Atacand HCT overdose include

  • Dehydration
  • Dizziness
  • Low blood pressure
  • Slow or irregular heartbeat
