Arava Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Arava is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It reduces the pain, stiffness, inflammation, and swelling that are associated with this disease, and also improves physical function, and staves off the joint damage.

Arava Dosage

  • For adults, the usual starting dose is one 100-milligram tablet daily.
  • Arava is not recommended for children less than 18 years old.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Arava with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Arava with the following:

  • Cholestyramine
  • Methotrexate
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
  • Rifampin
  • Tolbutamide
