Focalin Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Focalin is a mild central nervous system stimulant used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in children. It is used as part of a total treatment such as psychological, educational, and social measures. Symptoms of disorders such as continual problems with moderate to severe distractibility, emotional changeability, and impulsiveness.

Focalin Dosage

  • The usual starting Focalin dose is half the amount of the Ritalin dose.
  • Depending on the response, your doctor may increase the dose by 2.5 to 5 milligrams a day, up to a maximum daily dose of 20 milligrams.

Uses of Focalin

  • It is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in children.

Side Effects of Focalin

Before taken Focalin medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Focalin. Side effects may include:

  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea
